Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars are back on top of the Billboard Philippines Hot 100.
On December 11, 2024, Billboard Philippines revealed its chart rankings for the week of December 14, 2024, seeing the viral single from the two American pop icons makes a grand return to the No. 1 spot on the Philippines Hot 100. This comes five weeks after it was replaced by “APT.” — the viral comeback track from BLACKPINK member Rosé which also features Mars as a collaborator.
The return of “Die With A Smile” at the very top of the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 notably makes Mars the first ever artist to replace himself on the chart’s No. 1 spot twice, with “APT.” moving to the No. 2 spot this week. Despite being dethroned by “APT.” in late October, the emotional and riveting single sat firmly on the No. 2 spot, with its continued usage on popular social media platforms in the Philippines helping to maintain and propel its popularity, eventually leading to its rise back to the top of the chart.
“Die With A Smile” was released last August 16, eventually debuting on Billboard Philippines Hot 100 at No. 6 during the week of August 31, 2024. It then rose to No. 1 a few weeks later during the week of September 21, 2024.
Notably, alongside “Die With A Smile” and “APT.,” two other songs from Mars are currently charting on Billboard Philippines Hot 100 this week. Namely, these are “Just The Way You Are” at No. 47 and “Locked Out Of Heaven” at No. 80.
For the rest of the Billboard Philippines Hot 100’s top 10 this week, Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “luther” ranks up to the No. 3 spot, followed by Dionela’s “Marilag” at No. 4 and TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan’s “Palagi” at No. 5. Meanwhile, Dionela and Jay R’s collaboration single “sining” is at No. 6, followed by Billie Eilish’s “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” at No. 7, while Maki’s “Dilaw” holds onto the No. 8 spot. Rounding up the top 10 is Dionela’s “Oksihina” as it rises to No. 9, and yung kai’s “Blue” taking the No. 10 spot.
