For the past 12 months, Billboard Philippines has been on a mission to showcase Filipino music to the world. From awarding influential homegrown artists on the global stage to spotlight our viral hitmakers to worldwide audience, celebrating OPM has always been at the center of everything we do.

As a culmination of everything we done during our first year, we presented Billboard Philippines: Mainstage — The Year One Anniversary, the ultimate celebration of Filipino music. Gathering the country’s most influential artists and bringing together the scene’s diverse genres, the grand show saw today’s biggest P-pop acts, chart-topping hip-hop acts, indie rock bands known for their viral hits, and legendary performers all on one stage. The entire night was a testament to that OPM is alive and well.

So, as we look forward to 12 more months of championing Filipino music across the world, here’s a look back at 12 moments from Billboard Philippines: Mainstage we can’t forget.


BINI Sings “Cherry On Top” A capella With Blooms

In true BINI fashion, the girls set the arena aroar with their prowess and grace on stage — from their impressive live vocals to their mesmerizing dance moves. As one of the most anticipated acts of the entire show, our Anniversary Issue cover stars made sure to leave a performance worth remembering.

In a showcase of true connection with their fans, BINI and Blooms did an a capella rendition of their latest chart-topping hit “Cherry On Top” after a technical difficulty. The crowd continued to perform alongside the Nation’s Girl Group before they jumped right back into their mashup of “Cherry On Top” and “Pantropiko,” which they initially debuted at Billboard Korea’s K POWER 100.

A Proposal In The Crowd Soundtracked by KZ Tandingan And TJ Monterde

One of the most memorable moments of the show is undeniably TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan’s set. After their heartwarming duet of TJ’s chart-topping hit “Palagi,” there was a proposal in the crowd that had everyone excited — even KZ and TJ themselves. Wanting to celebrate the moment even further, the pair performed another chorus of “Palagi” especially for the newly engaged couple. Beyond their duet, TJ and KZ also moved the crowd with performances of their beloved tracks “Sariling Mundo” and “Toyo” respectively, filling the venue with so much love and warmth.

AJAA Cry Happy Tears After Their Incredible Performance

While the night saw so many of P-pop’s biggest and most exciting rising acts, AJAA come as one of the night’s standout groups. Bringing to stage joy and glee with a mashup of their catchy hits “TORPE” and “BES I LUV U,” the young act showcased their impeccable presence and command of the stage, grabbing control of the crowd at an instant. After their set, the boys came down from stage with happy tears having just performed — and excelled — on their biggest stage yet.

Sarah Geronimo Receives A Standing Ovation

Sarah Geronimo delivered undeniably one of the top performances of the entire show. From the seated sections all the way down to the floor, Geronimo took over the entire arena with incredible live renditions of “Kilometro,” “Dati-dati,” “Alam,” and “Tala.” Catching the attention of the not only the entire crowd but also so many of her fellow artists, Geronimo used every second of her set to prove why she remains to be a force in the Philippine music industry. At the end of her performance, the award-winning singer and Billboard Philippines‘ Woman of the Year was met with a standing ovation she so rightfully deserved.

Gab Valenciano Joins Gary Valenciano On Stage

If there’s anything to know about the Filipino music industry, it’s that there’s no performer like Gary Valenciano. Like he’s always done it, the revered artist brought nothing pure energy to Billboard Philippines: Mainstage with electrifying performances of “Shake It Off” and “Babalik Ka Rin.” Joined by his son, Gab Valenciano, the pair brought so much power and fire to crowd that you couldn’t help but get up and dance along.

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid Leaves A Lasting Impression

When Regine Velasquez-Alcasid takes the stage, you have no choice but to pay attention as she enchants you with her incomparable vocals. At Billboard Philippines: Mainstage, she serenade the crowd her rendition a cover of Nina’s “Someday,” from her upcoming album Reginified. As she graces the stage, you can’t help but watch in awe as Asia’s Songbird delivers one of the most highly anticipated set of the night. After she left the stage, there was no denying that the crowd wanted more, chanting for an encore. If there was one performance anyone wanted to relive that night, it was definitely Regine Velasquez-Alcasid’s.

SB19 Debut New Arrangements Of “MANA” and “CRIMZONE”

SB19 have been prominent figures in Billboard Philippines‘ first year, so it was only right they close out our grandest celebration yet. In what is a full circle moment with maiden cover stars, the P-pop Kings closed the show with new, never-before heard arrangements of their fan-favorite tracks “MANA” and “CRIMZONE.” Even with technical difficulties, the group powered through, delivering one of the best performances of the night and closing out the show on an incredible high.

Ben&Ben Tease Upcoming Album

Ben&Ben are always full of surprises. From ushering new eras to unforgettable live performances, the folk-pop icons always have something new up their sleeves — and their set at Billboard Philippines: Mainstage was no different. During their set, the band debuted a new song from their upcoming third studio album, The Traveller Across Dimensions. Titled “Triump”, the track — which is described as “a fight song” — ignited passion across the crowd, as it served as a reminder that you can rise above hardships.

Moira Gives A Sneak Peek Of Her Upcoming Album

As if an angel descended from the heavens, Moira took over the arena with her captivating vocals, tugging at everyone’s heart strings. She opened her set with a rendition of “Paubaya” so full of warmth and heart, before serenading the crowd with a new song from her upcoming album. Wanting to prepare something special for an equally special night, the impeccable singer-songwriter gifted the crowd with “Dinggin,” a heartfelt track from her highly anticipated album i’m okay.

Yeng Constantino Gets Everyone To Sing Along To “Salamat”

It’s always a treat when Yeng Constantino takes the stage. With her songs having defined an entire era of Filipino music, the crowd showered the OPM icon with so much love, even singing her songs back to her in tenfolds. Tt was nothing but cheers as she performed a medley of fan-favorites “Ikaw” and “Salamat” — even getting the entire arena to sing along to the latter with so much energy, uniting generations of music fans together for a heartwarming moment.

O Side Mafia And Tus Brothers Join Forces For “Crashing”

Kicking off our line of hip-hop performances were none other than O Side Mafia and Tus Brothers, charging the crowd with so much intensity and energy with their individual sets. But things truly went into high gear when they joined forces on stage for a joint performance of their viral hit “CRASHING.” Together, the viral hitmakers hyped up the arena, showcasing the true power of Filipino hip-hop.

Billboard Philippines: Mainstage had no shortage of surprises with so many artists unveiling new renditions of their songs for the first time — including KAIA. They performed their latest single “Walang Biruan,” marking a new sound for the rising P-pop girl group. Beyond being one of the first times the song was performed live, KAIA also shocked the crowd with a dance intro to the new sweet bubblegum pop track.
