This 2025, we’re looking forward to a plethora of new musical releases.
As we step into the new year, the music landscape is buzzing with anticipation for what the year holds. Last year set the stage for a remarkable wave of releases, showcasing an exciting blend of established musical icons alongside several fresh voices and names across a variety of genres. From chart-topping singles to highly anticipated albums, we witnessed a multitude of artists pushing boundaries, experimenting with new sounds and genres, and captivating listeners both locally and globally. Prominent names in the industry delivered memorable tracks, while rising talents introduced themselves with raw, authentic creativity that quickly earned them a place in the spotlight.
With the momentum of 2024 still in the air, Billboard Philippines is once again looking ahead, curating a list of 15 musical releases we can’t wait to hear in 2025. Whether you’re a fan of Filipino pop, international indie, or genre-blending collaborations, this year promises to deliver a diverse and dynamic range of new music. From homegrown stars like to global sensations, these highly anticipated projects are set to shape the soundtrack of the year, and we’re here to share the ones we’re most excited about.
Addison Rae

Courtesy of Columbia Records.
As one of the industry’s hottest rising acts, Addison Rae has taken the world by storm with the viral “Diet Pepsi” — paving the way for her to enter pop music stardom.
With her recent single “Aquamarine” solidifying the fact that there is no such thing as a sophomore slump for Rae, one can confidently presume that whatever musical releases lie ahead for her are just as impeccably polished and stylized to her signature effect. Because if there’s one that she’s learned from her peers and collaborators such as Charli XCX, The Dare, and a whole lot more, it’s to embrace her most brash self and channel it into her music.
Justin Bieber

Courtesy of Universal Music Group.
Over the past few weeks, the once-elusive Justin Bieber has returned to social media, sharing glimpses of his process inside the recording studio.
With various teasers of what he’s been working on being dropped to his social media accounts, it seems to be a clear evolution of his craft, which stands similar to what he’s accomplished on his smash-hit albums, such as 2015’s Purpose and even 2021’s Justice. As the return of the Prince of Pop seems inevitable, we’re counting the days (and perhaps months) for when we’ll next be hearing from the celebrated hitmaker.
Taylor Swift’s Reputation (Taylor’s Version)

Courtesy of Republic Records and Universal Music Group.
Taylor Swift has established herself as one of the biggest pop juggernauts in the music industry, especially with the success of her ongoing rerecording project.
While we’re already looking forward to her new material, there’s no denying that we’re even more excited about the long-awaited Reputation (Taylor’s Version) — given that it’s a record that not only aged particularly well over time, but has also continued to find new audiences with its lyrical excellence and sonic departure from her usual work. Even when you consider the personal significance of the record on Swift herself, there’s a whole wealth of experience that the pop icon can channel for the record’s vault recordings which fans can easily look forward to.
The original Reputation was arguably one of Swift’s most cathartic albums to date, so one could imagine just how much more devastating its rerecording will be all these years later.
BLACKPINK’s Solo Albums (And Their Comeback)

Courtesy of YG Entertainment.
BLACKPINK‘s four members have been busy embarking on their solo endeavors, as LISA, ROSÉ, JENNIE, and JISOO have already mapped their schedule of solo releases, ranging from mini-albums to full-length studio records.
Having signed onto their respective labels as well, Jisoo is set to kick off the 2025 run of solo material with the release of her first mini album Amortage this Valentine’s Day, and LISA’s debut LP ALTER EGO being released at the end of the month on February 28. JENNIE is then set to electrify the world stage with her highly-anticipated RUBY, which will feature such stellar collaborators as Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, and more.
Yet aside from their highly anticipated solo records, one thing we’re also looking forward to at the end of the year is their comeback as a group — which is set to culminate in a world tour that we hope will eventually stop by the Philippines.
Chappell Roan

Courtesy of Island Records and Universal Music Group.
It’s difficult to believe that Chappell Roan dominated the musical landscape of 2024 with just one release that year, which is why we’re pretty sure we can expect a whole lot of new music from the pop sensation this year.
Roan has already teased a series of still-unreleased singles across various platforms last year, which is why we’re hoping “Subway,” “Read & Makeout,” and “The Giver” are finally going to get the release they deserve within these next few months. However, we’re not opposed to seeing other new material from the queer pop icon, as we’re sure that we’re going to love and listen to it either way.
O SIDE MAFIA

What better way is there to welcome the new year than with more of O SIDE MAFIA? The beloved hip-hop trio has continued to make waves across the Philippine music industry over the past year, yet from what they’ve teased both online and via interviews with Billboard Philippines, there’s a lot of things to look forward to from them this 2025.
Should any of their upcoming tracks be along the same vein as their infectious, chart-topping single “Get Low” or even their newly released single “SHAKE” (both of which feature constant collaborator BRGR), then we can easily assume that they’re set to drop a fantastic mixtape, EP, or album that perfectly showcases their artistry and musical prowess.
BINI’s “Blink Twice”

Courtesy of Star Music and ABS-CBN.
While the Nation’s Girl Group undeniably made 2024 their year, 2025 promises a whole lot of brand new opportunities for them — including a major comeback with the release of their upcoming single “Blink Twice.”
As they’ve described to Billboard Philippines in an exclusive interview, it’s a brand new direction for the group, with some members even describing it as a more mature version of “Cherry On Top.” Teasing how it was produced with international collaborators (and how they wrestled for the song with an international pop star!), the group has described it as a “brand new direction for BINI,” which we and the rest of the world are already looking forward to. With the international leg of BINIverse also on the horizon, we’re pretty sure that BINI isn’t stopping with “Blink Twice” alone, as perhaps there could be more releases also on the way.
Japanese Breakfast’s For Melancholy Brunettes (And Sad Women)

Courtesy of Dead Oceans.
Upon sharing the announcement of their fourth studio album For Melancholy Brunettes (And Sad Women), Japanese Breakfast shook the entire indie music circuit with a whole lot of buzz, excitement, and anticipation.
Their last record, Jubilee, marked a new career-defining highlight for the band — embracing complex themes of grief, serendipity, and angst in a much more playful (if adaptive) manner than their last few records. One can further hope that this upcoming record will see the indie-pop band going deeper over the edge with their experimental, art-rock tendencies, while still retaining the same distinct charm and vibrancy that have stood as signature characteristics of their work over time.
Any Name’s Okay’s Debut Album

Amongst the indie circuit, both Over October and The Ridleys attained new career highs over the last year — staging their first-ever major concerts, and releasing critically and commercially acclaimed albums within just a few months. So given that, one could easily (and hopefully) assume that fan-favorites Any Name’s Okay are set to achieve the same level of momentum this 2025.
Given that it’s been quite some time since the release of their six-track EP Leaving Home (which dropped all the way back in 2022), it’s high time that their debut album finally gets to see the light of day this year. With the release of various singles that showcase the band embracing a multitude of genres and sonic landscapes that still feel like them, we can surely hope that there’s more to come from the five-piece alt-pop group as they explore their artistry further with upcoming musical releases.
BTS’ 2025 comeback

Courtesy of HYBE Labels.
With the last batch of BTS members coming out of the military very soon, it’s inevitable that the group’s comeback is going to be bigger than ever. Though we’re more than content with the wealth of solo releases that we’ve gotten from Jin, J-Hope, and Jimin so far, one can only expect just how much greater things will be once the group releases their latest batch of new music.
As it stands, their 2023 single “Take Two” is the last we’ve properly heard of them as a group, which is why we can’t wait for what lies ahead for these K-pop superstars once they come out of their temporary hiatus.
Lady Gaga’s Mayhem

Courtesy of Interscope Records and Universal Music Group.
It’s been nearly five whole years since we last got a full album from the one and only Mother Monster, which is why the world is bubbling with anticipation for her upcoming album Mayhem.
Based on the teasers and visualizers that we’ve seen so far, fans and listeners can expect an eclectic mix of Gaga’s more avant-garde pop style (as exemplified by its lead single “Disease” and the spectacular surprise release “Abracadabra”) together with a softer, and more vulnerable side of her that we’ve seen from her chart-topping collaboration with Bruno Mars, “Die With A Smile.” Nevertheless, fans all over the world are looking forward to the final result of the fourteen-track record — as we’re ultimately more than excited to hear from one of pop’s living legends once more.
SB19’s Simula At Wakas

Courtesy of 1Z Entertainment.
The members of SB19 have spent the last year busy with their impressive solo endeavors, with each of them releasing a series of albums and EPs that demonstrated their musical range across genres beyond the confines of P-pop. Yet as the Kings of P-pop, we’re excited to see them come back as a unit even stronger than ever before.
Following what they’ve teased in their acceptance speeches at the 10th Wish Music Awards, Stell, Josh, Justin, Ken, and Pablo are set to make a bigger comeback this 2025 — with millions of fans already looking forward to the release of Simula At Wakas. Despite its scheduled release for this April (with its first single set to come out this February), we’re looking forward to what lies ahead from the beloved P-pop group — as this comeback has been a long time in the making.
ALYSON’s Sophomore Album

Indie favorites ALYSON are reaching new heights in their career this 2025, with the announcement of their upcoming performance at the tenth iteration of the Wanderland Music and Arts Festival, while also growing their international fanbase. Yet of all these exciting ventures for the city pop quintet, what’s most anticipated is the release of their upcoming sophomore album, which is set to be released later on in the year.
Teasing some details about it to Billboard Philippines during the band’s episode of Volumes, there’s a lot more room for the group to explore the interrelationship between their take on city pop and the beloved genre of Manila sound even more on LP #2. And if the results of the first record are any indicator of what we can expect, then the world should definitely look out for what’s next for this rising indie sensations.
Morissette

Asia’s Phoenix is staging a grand comeback this 2025, as seen from the recent release of her heartfelt single “Ihilak Lang Na.”
The newly released single is just the first of many more projects for Morissette’s busy year ahead (especially now as an independent artist), especially as she gears up to release her first co-written and produced album later this year, as well as several yet-to-be-released projects — all of which are something that we and the rest of the Philippines is anxious to look out for.
Maki’s Debut Album

Over the past year, Maki has been releasing a series of colorful singles, which have been teasing a much larger project at hand.
As it is, the beloved singer-songwriter had initially teased that he was set to share a major announcement at the 10th Wish Music Awards should he have won an award, yet unfortunately the news has yet to be shared. Nevertheless, the excitement is definitely still there for Maki’s upcoming debut album, for we’re pretty sure that both we and the rest of the Philippine audience are willing to immerse themselves in the vibrant world that his singles have conveyed over time.
