Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco surprised fans at the New York IMAX screening of Spring Breakers, the 2013 A24 cult classic, by introducing their unreleased song “Bluest Flame,” set to appear on their collaborative album, I Said I Love You First.

The pop star asked the crowd if they enjoyed one of her favorite movies, with her fiancé Benny Blanco by her side. She then shared a heartfelt message, saying, “Thank you so much, this movie means the world to me. And just that you guys are here, it’s so special. I’m so grateful for you guys, and I hope you enjoy everything we put together.”

“Bluest Flame” played after the credits rolled. As a special treat for fans in attendance, Blanco announced that they would receive the song a day early on a flash drive handed out to them.

Spring Breakers, directed by Harmony Korine, marked a departure from Gomez’s teen mold image as a former Disney star, alongside co-star Vanessa Hudgens. In the film, Gomez plays Faith, a devout Catholic who serves as the moral compass amid her friends’ reckless behavior.

Despite the controversies surrounding its initial release, the film gained cult classic status for its themes, bold visuals, and satirical take on spring break culture. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly during its initial release, Gomez reflected on the film’s reception, saying, “My mom started it all by helping me get Spring Breakers, a project I’m proud of despite its uniqueness.”
