Nick Jonas And Paul Rudd’s New Musical Comedy Releases Official Trailer
The musical comedy-drama follows a collaboration between a wedding singer past his prime and a fading boyband star, and is about friendship, music, and the high cost of success.

The musical comedy-drama, Power Ballad, starring Nick Jonas and Paul Rudd, releases its official trailer.
Set in Dublin, the film follows Rick (Rudd), a wedding singer past his prime, who meets fading boyband star Danny (Jonas) at a gig. They eventually bond over music, but a feud ignites when Danny takes one of Rick’s songs and turns it into a hit, and Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves.
The film is helmed by Irish filmmaker John Carney, who is known for directing the musical films Once, Begin Again, Sing Street, and Flora and Son. Once won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Falling Slowly” at the 80th Academy Awards.
Rounding out the cast of the film are Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Havana Rose Liu, Jack Reynor, and Sophie Vavasseur.
Jonas released his fifth studio album, Sunday Best, in February. It featured guest vocal appearances from his band, the Jonas Brothers, featuring his older brothers Joe and Kevin Jonas

The film had its world premiere at the Dublin International Film Festival on March 1, 2026, and hits theaters in June 2026. As of this writing, no official Philippine release date has been announced.
