Gian Bernardino Cast in Filipino Adaptation of 'Pee Mak'

Gian Bernardino is set to make his feature film debut in the upcoming Filipino film adaptation of the blockbuster Thai horror-comedy film, Pee Mak.

Announced on August 12, 2026, the Cup of Joe co-lead vocalist joins fellow cast members Wilbert Ross, Bea Binene, Jairus Aquino, Vandolph Quizon, and TJ Valderrama. The project will be helmed by Cebuano filmmaker Victor Villanueva (Patay Na Si Hesus, I Am Not Big Bird).

In June, he signed solo management and film contracts with Viva Artists Agency and Viva Films.

During his contract signing and press conference, Bernardino shared that acting has always been a childhood dream and his “first love.” This new venture allows him to focus on his acting career while continuing to make music with Cup of Joe.

Before his upcoming feature film debut, Bernardino has also appeared in music videos and starred in the short films Kubli and Microplastics, as well as the 2020 BL series Quaranthings.

Released in 2013, Pee Mak adapts the Mae Nak Phra Khanong legend of Thai folklore and stars Mario Maurer as Mak and Davika Hoorne as Nak.

The film follows Mak, who returns from war with four comrades and invites them to meet his wife and infant son, only to discover that they are now ghosts.
