Doechii has just reacted to a viral Philippine drag performance of her hit tracks “BOILED PEANUTS” and “DENIAL IS A RIVER.”
The Grammy-winning rap sensation commented on Odasha Flop, Zymba Ding, and Kiari‘s live take on the song, stating: “This is so good I’m so proud of them. These Queens ate from beginning to end.” The video, which featured the three drag queens, was first posted to X (formerly Twitter) and mirrored Doechii’s widely-recognized performance from The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
Doechii’s original performance featured an intricately choreographed routine, which connected her with her two backup dancers through their hair. The drag trio was able to perfectly recreate the setup, leaving audiences (and Doechii herself) pleasantly amazed with their take on the performance. Check it out here.
The viral performance isn’t the only public showcase of Filipinos’ love for the 26-year-old rapper, as another viral image of a large tarpaulin congratulating Doechii for her Grammy win circulated the internet just a few weeks back. The tarpaulin, originally located in Don Pedro St. Poblacion Makati, echoed the Filipino tradition wherein families would often print these in celebration of their milestones, such as their graduation or passing the board exams.
Alongside Doechii’s tarpaulin, several others were made to congratulate the winners of the 2025 Grammy Awards, including Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter. At the ceremony proper, the rising rapper was awarded in the category of Best Rap Album for her 2024 mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal. She also performed an outstanding mashup of her tracks “CATFISH” and “DENIAL IS A RIVER” at the awards show proper.
In celebration of her win at the famed music awards ceremony, the femcee released a surprise single “Nosebleeds,” which served as an extension of her emotional acceptance speech at the event.
