Adele To Make Acting Debut In New Tom Ford Film ‘Cry To Heaven’
The film is expected to be released in the fall of 2026.

Adele is set to make her acting debut in Cry to Heaven, the upcoming film from fashion designer and filmmaker Tom Ford — an adaptation of Anne Rice’s 1982 novel of the same name.
Set in 18th-century Italy, the story follows two men, a Venetian noble and a maestro castrato (male castrated singer), whose lives become unexpectedly intertwined as they try to make it into the world of opera.
The Grammy Award-winning artist joins an all-star cast that includes Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ciarán Hinds, George MacKay, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany, Owen Cooper, Hunter Schafer, and Thandiwe Newton, among others.
The film is currently in pre-production, with principal photography set to begin in January 2026, with a planned release date set for the fall of the same year.
Ford, known for his career as creative director at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent before founding his own label, made his directorial debut with the Academy Award-nominated 2009 film A Single Man. He later directed Nocturnal Animals (2016), which won the Grand Jury Prize at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival. Cry to Heaven will mark Ford’s reunion with Taylor-Johnson, who starred in Nocturnal Animals, and Firth, who led A Single Man.
In November 2024, the “Easy On Me” singer wrapped up her ‘Weekends with Adele’ residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The singer has said she plans to take a break from music to explore other creative ventures. “I want a big break after this, and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while,” she said in a July 2024 interview.
