Brando Bal Signs Exclusive Deal With Warner Music Philippines
Following the group’s three-year hiatus, the “Anghel” songwriters’ next move was to sign with one of the biggest record labels in the country.

Filipino indie band Brando Bal, an up-and-coming indie OPMOPMShort for Original Pilipino Music, the body of songs created by Filipino artists, spanning genres from ballads and rock to hip-hop and pop. OPM expresses Filipino identity and heritage, andGo to OPM Glossary band, has officially signed an exclusive music distribution contract with Warner Music Philippines on Friday, January 12th, 2024.
Brando Bal first came on the scene with their self-release 2019 titled “Experimental“, as well as their 2020 hit single “Anghel” –– which has garnered over 4.1 million streams on the platform of Spotify. Composed of Mark Brando Baloloy on guitar and vocals, Allen Lestingyo on guitar, Marjun Gonzales on bass, Zedrick Lara on keys, and Merwin Hipona on drums, the five-piece act signed their contract at the Warner Music Philippines Office in BGC, Taguig City. Other key representatives of the deal, including Brando Bal’s Manager, John Lloyd Elsisura, and Warner Music Philippines A&R Director, Kelley Mangahas were present at the signing together with the band.
This burgeoning partnership between Brando Bal and Warner Music Philippines promises an exciting new venture for both parties, following a three-year hiatus of the band. Warner Music Philippines, a regional branch of the global music powerhouse Warner Music Group, has been a prominent label in the Philippines’ music landscape since its inception in the year 1977. The label has played a pivotal role in launching and nurturing numerous Filipino music artists and bands, such as Dilaw, Lola Amour, Felip, Jason Dhakal, Jikamarie, and Arthur Miguel, as well as international artists like Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Dua Lipa, and Cardi B.
