Pambansang Muziklaban Invites Local Bands To Nationwide Battle Of The Bands
The country’s longest-running band challenge has spotlighted some of the nation’s top OPM bands, including Ibarra, EVEN, Hatankaru, and Mayonnaise.

Red Horse Beer Pambansang Muziklaban is once again gathering bands all around the Philippines to battle it out in its battle-of-the-bands competition.
In its newest edition, the country’s longest-running battle-of-the-bands competition is again calling all bands with members aged 21 to 45 years old, welcoming all sorts of musical genres. Along with winning the Pambansang Muziklaban’s coveted crown and a place in its roster of champions, the competition’s grand champion will also be the recipient of a PHP 1,000,000 cash prize.

Since its inception in 1999, Pambansang Muziklaban has managed to give a platform and spotlight to then up-and-coming bands over its 27-year run. Notable bands in its lineup of winners include Ibarra, EVEN, Hatankaru, and Mayonnaise, who won the competition in 2004. Last season, Davao City-based raggacore band Tamad si Juan were announced as the competition’s grand champions, beating finalists VDS, BAGUIO GOLD MUSIC, HILO, and Themata.
Outside of the battle of the bands, the competition’s last iteration also featured performances from renowned OPM bands like Greyhoundz, WilaBaliW, Urbandub, Mayonnaise, Kjwan, Razorback, Typecast, Chocolate Factory, and Setsuna.
