Rapper-singer Post Malone has just been announced to headline the FIFA World Cup 2026 Closing Ceremony on July 19, 1:30 PM (ET), at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The announcement appeared on the official FIFA World Cup’s Instagram page. Following the announcement, FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated: “At a time when sport, culture and global attention converge, Post Malone will deliver a performance designed to celebrate the tournament’s journey and ignite the atmosphere before the world’s attention turns to the two finalists.”

The Closing Ceremony will take place 90 minutes before the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, which will feature the final match between Spain and Argentina. Also set to perform in the ceremony are Italian singer Laura Pausini, Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger, English singer Robbie Williams, and internet personality iShowSpeed. Actor Tom Cruise was also announced to make a “special appearance” at the ceremony, similar to his iconic appearance in a stunt during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Lastly, Jennifer Hudson will come on stage to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

“We are thrilled to have so many stars taking to the pitch, from both the football and entertainment worlds.” Infantino further shared. “The closing ceremony will set the tone for a historic FIFA World Cup final, uniting the passion of 48 teams, 16 host cities and millions of fans on one unforgettable stage.”

The event will also have a Super Bowl-style Halftime Show, the first ever in a FIFA World Cup. The show will be curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and will feature performances by artists Justin Bieber, Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, and PS22 Chorus (ft. Coldplay).
