The band embarks on their grandest project yet, performing live their rare blend of music with a full orchestra.

Dubbed ‘AFTER OURS: Live and in Full!’, the concert will feature tracks from their latest album AFTER OURS, released earlier May of this year, performed alongside a full orchestra.

Seen as a Filipino take on Japanese city pop (unofficially labeled “siyudad pop”), ALYSON’s sound captures the retro genre’s characteristics from its synths, funk rhythms, jazz harmonies, and smooth vocal style, altogether adding an 80’s OPM spin to the mix.
The richness of their sound will only reach greater depths with the addition of an orchestra. “We’ve also been rehearsing with our orchestra,” the band shared, “and it’s another experience to hear our music played altogether like this with so many talented people.”
The orchestra, moreover, is just one of their surprises for the night. “While we make no secret of the involvement of the orchestra and their hand in elevating our performance, we think there’s still room for surprises.” The band further teased. “Maybe some special guest or two, maybe some unexpected numbers.”
Releasing their self-titled EP in 2018, the five-member band – Pio Ligot (vocals and rhythm guitar), Luis Uy (lead guitar), Marcus Mababangloob (drums and backing vocals), Miguel Erfe (bass), and Easel Manes (keyboard) will undergo their most ambitious project with ‘AFTER OURS: Live and in Full!’.
Next month, the band goes further still, making their international festival debut performing in Bali, Indonesia’s AXEAN Festival on August 29 and 30 at Jimbaran Hub.
