Sugarfree‘s “Burnout” re-enters the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 chart, dated July 18, 2026, placing at the No. 59 spot.
Originally released in 2003, the Filipino rock band’s breakout hit appears on their acclaimed debut album, Sa Wakas. The album, which also featured songs like “Telepono” and “Mariposa,” helped the band burst into the mainstream local music scene.
More than a decade later, acoustic/folk trio 3D released an acoustic version of the track. The trio is composed of Sugarfree’s former singer and guitarist Ebe Dancel, Johnoy Danao, and Bullet Dumas. It appeared in the 2017 hit indie romantic-drama, I’m Drunk, I Love You, starring Paulo Avelino and Maja Salvador. This stripped-down rendition further catapulted the song into popularity, as many listeners attribute the song with feelings of yearning and longing.
