Maki is embracing soft longing in his newest single, “habangbuhay pansamantala.”
Released on May 24, 2026, the track marks Maki’s first single of the year, a soft yet emotionally charged pop anthem that captures love through pink-colored lenses. Built around lyrics like “Nananahimik yung tao / Ginulo mo ang mundo ko / Na para bang ‘di ka aalis / Na para bang ‘di mo matitiis” and “Sapat magustuhan / ‘Di sapat mapanindigan,” the song explores love that feels fleeting yet intense.
Another standout lyric, “Ngayon lang nakita ang gantong kulay,” references the color pink, which the singer-songwriter has closely associated with the single since its announcement earlier this month.
Ahead of the single release, Maki shared a heartfelt message to fans about the song’s meaning, sharing how it is “both longing and surrender, both frustration and acceptance, both strength and weakness.” He also went on to describe it as “the most powerful and softest song” he’s ever written.
Accompanied by a dreamy music video, Tarsier Records shared the visualizer on social media, with the caption, “a little dash of luck and a lot of whimsy.”
In the video, Maki appears in a disheveled school uniform while wandering through a lush green field surrounded by floating objects, pink animated stars, dolphins, lightning bolts, and other whimsical imagery. The visuals shift between blue and pink skies before erupting into a dramatic pink windstorm that lifts him upward in a glowing pink light.
Featuring Justin de Dios of SB19, the visualizer sees the P-pop idol bump into Maki while riding a bike and accidentally smudges pink paint onto his uniform — a parallel to Maki’s “Dilaw” music video with BINI‘s Maloi Ricalde where yellow paint became the defining symbol. The video ends with animated alternate universe versions of the pair in different art styles, blending pink and yellow together.
Beyond the release, fans can also expect more from the singer in the coming weeks, with Maki set to hold Pink Fest on May 29, 2026 at TriNoma in Quezon City. Shortly after, an exclusive send-off fan meet titled Pink Room is set to happen on June 5, 2026 at Solaire Resort North.
The “Saan?” hitmaker is also gearing up for his Kolorcoaster shows in Singapore and Indonesia this June.
