Inigo Pascual makes his return to music with his new single, “Ikaw at Ikaw,” under Star Music.
“It feels like I’m coming back to my home. I can easily say that Star Music, they were the people that really saw the potential in me from the very beginning, and they allowed me to create music, to even discover that I can be a composer. Sa kanila talaga nanggaling ang confidence ko (My confidence comes from them) when it comes to music,” Inigo shares in an official statement.
Composed by Pascual and arranged and produced by Gabriel Tagadtad, “Ikaw at Ikaw” is about coming back home to a loved one whose affection never went away.
The track is inspired by his own experiences of coming back to the Philippines after moving back and forth between the country and the United States for his international career. “I wanted to go back to my roots, I wanted to go back to how I started as a musician,” Pascual adds.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Manalo, ABS-CBN Music’s creatives, content, and operations head, shared his excitement about Pascual’s return to music, saying, “Inigo will always be family. Hindi naman talaga siya rin umalis sa amin (He never really went away). His songs, his music stayed with us.”
“S’yemre pag narinig n’yo ang (Of course, when you hear) ‘Dahil Sayo,’ it will always be the signature of Inigo released under Star Music, and right now it’s like a full circle moment, and alam ko (I know) he will keep releasing songs under his home label,” Manalo adds.
“Ikaw at Ikaw” is set to be part of his forthcoming album, which is dropping later this year. The record will also feature other tracks written by Pascual himself. A music video, shot in Batangas, will also be released soon.
