Yeng Constantino receives the Hitmaker Award at Billboard Philippines Women In Music 2026, held on March 24, 2026, at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater, BGC Arts Center.

In an interview with Billboard Philippines, the Philippines’ Pop Rock Royalty was honored to receive the recognition, along with talking about her idol, legendary Filipino musician and record producer, Raymund Marasigan, who was an integral part in her 20 year journey.

“So honored to receive this recognition from Billboard Philippines. Lalo na yung idol mo pa yung magpresenta nung award para sa’yo […] Kasi yung idol ko, hindi kami masyado malambing sa isa’-isa, si kuya Raymund,” she says. (Especially your idol who presented the award for you […] Because my idol, we are not very close to each other, Raymund and I.)

Walang formula ang paggawa ng hit song. At ang paggawa ng kanta ay hindi lamang para makagawa ng hit song. Treat your craft na parang anak mo, parang pamilya mo na yung relationship mo with music is not just transactional. You create music because you’re designed by God to create music and you enjoy doing it,” she adds.

(There is no formula for making a hit song. And making a song is not just for making a hit song. Treat your craft like your child, like your family, that your relationship with music is not just transactional. You create music because you’re designed by God to create music and you enjoy doing it.)

Constantino then proceeded to quote Marasigan, saying, “Grabe noh? We get to do this kahit di naman tayo binabayaran. Ang sarap gumawa ng art.”

“What an honor to be gifted ng ganitong klaseng talento, ng mag-share ng art, and to touch people’s lives or to just even sing on your own, sa banyo. Ang sarap ng musika. Namnamin mo,” she concludes.

(What an honor to be gifted with this kind of talent, to share art and to touch people’s lives or to just even sing on your own, in the bathroom. The music is so good. Savor it.)

The third Billboard Philippines Women in Music event continues to celebrate the influential, game-changing women in Filipino music who have shaped generations — from honoring the legacy of icons to paving the way for the future of the industry.
