Electro-pop provocateur Slayyyter has just released a brand new single, titled “OLD TECHNOLOGY.”
Having teased its release over the past month, the American pop star finally dropped the track on digital and streaming platforms worldwide. “OLD TECHNOLOGY” sees the American musician blending the genres of techno, rap, and pop in one seamless package –– leading up to an explosive chorus with shredding guitars and hard-hitting bass elements. Yet even with its grunge and grimey elements, it still stands as a fine example of Slayyyter’s status as a pop auteur unlike many of her contemporaries.
Together with the track’s release, an accompanying black & white music video was also posted online, which was directed by Slayyyter herself and was shot and edited by her collaborator, Kaitlyn Muro. Watch the full music video of “OLD TECHNOLOGY” below:
“OLD TECHNOLOGY” serves as the fifth single off Slayyyter’s forthcoming album, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, following releases such as “DANCE…,” “CRANK,” “CANNIBALISM!”, and “BEAT UP CHANEL$.” The record is scheduled to be released on March 27, 2026, and marks her third studio album, following 2023’s Starfucker and 2021’s Troubled Paradise.
Slayyyter initially garnered prominence worldwide with the release of her eponymous mixtape in 2019, and prolific collaborations with artists such as Charli XCX, Kesha, Rebecca Black, and more. Starfucker marked her official debut on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, peaking at No. 10, with the record receiving positive reviews from critics — with several considering it one of 2023’s best pop records.
