sombr is looking for real romance –– but he isn’t willing to be a “Homewrecker,” per his latest single.
The newly released track sees the 20-year-old hitmaker and viral sensation crooning about his desire for a special someone, even if (unfortunately) this person is someone already in a committed relationship. The song is as vulnerable as you’d expect from sombr (following hits like “back to friends” and “undressed,” and was solely written by him and co-produced with his constant collaborator, Tony Berg.
Together with the track’s release on digital and streaming platforms worldwide, an accompanying music video was also released, starring Milo Manheim and Quenlin Blackwell. Directed by Gus Black (Phoebe Bridgers, Laufey), the music video brings the song’s relatably messy feelings to life, with sombr and Blackwell, cast in a Western film helmed by a short-tempered director played by Manheim, with tensions rising on set and the lines between pretend and real life blurred — leading to a high noon-style western showdown.
