Five-piece Davao-based pop band MidSummer are set to release their new single, “Kailan Kaya,” this Friday, January 9.

“Kailan Kaya” is an indie pop track that reflects the feeling of waiting for a love that has yet to arrive. Through its hugot-driven and heartfelt lyricism, the song offers raw honesty and speaks deeply to people who are hopeful yet uncertain.

The band, signed under KDR Music House, hails from the province of Davao Oriental. They are influenced by rock and jazz music, and consist of Julie Anne on lead vocals, Florence John on keyboards and vocals, John Michael on bass, John Bryan on drums, and Ralph Vincent on lead guitar.

With this release, the band is set to embark on a series of promotional appearances, both live and on air. This kicked off on January 4 with their promo run at KDRAC at Night, held at KDR Adventure Camp in Orani, Bataan, where they shared the stage with Daryl Ong, Adelene Rabulan, and comedienne Orca.

The band followed this with appearances on radio and television, including Good Morning Kuya and Morning Wish on Wish 107.5. Additionally, their taping on iWant ASAP will stream on January 18.

MidSummer released their debut single “Manghuhula” in 2023. A year later, they released “Meteorite,” followed in 2025 by the singles “Bula,” “Lihim,” and “Ilusyon.”
