Depeche Mode has unveiled the trailer for their new concert film, Depeche Mode: M, which will screen exclusively in select IMAX SM cinemas on October 29 and 31, 2025.
Directed by Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frías, the legendary synth-pop band’s performances in Mexico drew over 200,000 fans, with the film capturing the band’s three sold-out Mexico City performances from their 2023 ‘Memento Mori World Tour.’ More than a concert documentary, the film also highlights the connection between music, mortality, and Mexican tradition, framing the band’s music within a broader cultural context.
The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in June and will open in IMAX theaters worldwide on October 28, 2025 — in 2,500 cinemas across more than 60 countries. The participating SM IMAX cinema branches include Cebu, Clark, North Edsa, Iloilo, Lanang Premier, and Megamall.
The film follows Spirits in the Forest, the 2019 live concert film, documentary, and album. That film was directed by Anton Corbijn, who also directed the 2007 biopic Control, centered on the life of the late Ian Curtis, former frontman of Joy Division.

Formed in 1980, Depeche Mode debuted with an original lineup of David Gahan on lead vocals, Martin Gore on keyboards, guitar, and vocals, Andy Fletcher on keyboards, and Vince Clarke on keyboards. Clarke was replaced by synth genius Alan Wilder in 1982, after which the band entered its most successful period. Today, the band consists of lead singer Gahan and main songwriter Gore, after Fletcher passed away in 2022.
Over the years, the band has sold over 100 million records worldwide and are known for their hits “Enjoy the Silence,” “Personal Jesus,” “Just Can’t Get Enough,” and “Policy of Truth,” among many others.
