Last night (September 15, 2025), Filipino indie/alternative rock band Over October officially announced the release of their upcoming single “Dahan.” Available for pre-saving on Spotify here, the song is set for release on September 26.
In a video teaser released by the band, the song is revealed to follow the narrative of a “slow burn,” where one falls in love with their longtime friend. With the lyrics “Dahan-dahang nahulog sa’yo, dahan-dahang patungo sa’yo, (I’m slowly falling for you, slowly going towards you),” the new song showcases the wavering one experiences when shifting a relationship from platonic to romantic.
This marks their latest musical drop since the band’s May single “Bitin,” which explores the feelings of having your expectations unmet in a romantic relationship — and the heartbreak that follows. The track was previously featured as one of Billboard Philippines’ best songs to have come out of 2025 so far. In the feature, it was written, “Acting as a sequel to the group’s chart-breaking single ‘Ikot,’ ‘Bitin’ follows a similar formula but doesn’t try too hard to be an instant hit, especially following the band’s breakthrough.”
Formed in October 2014, Over October is composed of Josh Buizon (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Joshua Caleb Lua (lead guitar), Joric Canlas (bass), Janessa Geronimo (drums), and Anton Rodriguez (rhythm guitar). The band’s chart-breaking track “Ikot” has been circulating on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 for 61 weeks and counting, previously peaking at the No. 11 spot and currently situated at No. 48 (dated September 13, 2025).
