The former Disney star last released an album, Breathe In. Breathe Out, in 2015. On Instagram, she officially announced her comeback with a series of photos in the studio.
According to an official press release, the upcoming documentary series, aptly titled Because That’s What Dreams Are Made Of, will be directed and executive-produced by Sam Wrench (Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour).
The series chronicles Duff’s highly anticipated return to music and her journey through motherhood, recording new songs, rehearsing for live shows, and preparing to perform again after a decade-long break in her music career — featuring interviews, performances, and archival footage straight from her personal collection.
Duff recently teased her comeback on Instagram in a post celebrating the 22nd anniversary of her sophomore album, Metamorphosis. She shared throwback photos, thanked her fans, and ended the post with a simple tease: “To be continued….”
From 2015 to 2021, Duff starred as Kelsey Peters in the comedy-drama series Younger, produced by MTV Entertainment Studios. She also led the cast of How I Met Your Father, a spin-off of the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother, which ran for two seasons before being canceled.
She rose to fame starring in the Disney Channel comedy series, Lizzie McGuire, which became a cultural phenomenon in the early 2000s, celebrated for its relatability with teens, its iconic animated inner monologue, and its focus on realistic middle-school experiences.
