Role Model is teaming up with the one and only Laufey for a special rendition of his song, “The Longest Goodbye.”
The rising country-pop sensation announced the upcoming collaboration on his social media platforms, sharing its release date of July 9, 2025 (Wednesday). He also went on to praise the jazz-pop phenomenon’s involvement on the track, stating, “literally no one sounds better singing this song than her.” The collaboration between the two musicians was first speculated upon when both of them appeared on each other’s TikTok videos, leading fans to cheer at the potential of a possible team-up between the two. Luckily for their fans, such a partnership was quick to happen with the fortchoming release of the track.
“The Longest Goodbye” was first released earlier this February as part of the deluxe edition of Role Model’s sophomore album, Kansas Anymore. The deluxe reissue added a total of four tracks on the record, which includes the viral hit “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out.” The latter soon became his first-ever Billboard-charting track by May of this year, entering at No. 36 on the US Alternative Airplay chart. The song also cracked the top 20 on US Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and reached a No. 12 peak position on the US Hot Alternative Songs chart.
On Laufey’s end, the “From The Start” hitmaker has been gearing up for the release of her third studio album, A Matter Of Time, which is scheduled for release this August 22, 2025. In preparation of the record’s release, she has released three singles, including “Silver Lining,” “Tough Luck,” and her most recent track, “Lover Girl.”
