Today (June 18, 2025), hit-making pop/jazz singer-songwriter Laufey took to her official social media platforms to announce the forthcoming release of her upcoming single entitled “Lover Girl.” Building up to the debut of her third studio album,A Matter of Time, the song is scheduled to come out on June 25, 12 Noon EST (12 Midnight on June 26).
This follows the recent announcement of her upcoming full-length record that’s set for release this August 22, 2025. In her post previously announcing A Matter of Time, the artist wrote a heartfelt message in his caption: “I’ve taken my diary and turned it into an album of songs, delving into the whole range of emotions — from the beautiful to the ugly — that one experiences as life and love unfold in time.”
“Lover Girl” marks the third pre-release single to come out of the album, following the premiere of “Silver Lining” last April 3, and “Tough Luck” which came out on May 15, 2025. In “Silver Lining,” Laufey speaks of a commitment long-lasting, and in “Tough Luck,” she switches gears and toils over a toxic relationship.
