To accompany the highly anticipated release of her debut album, LISA has just announced the launch of her own comic publishing company, Lalisa Comics.
Though some may be surprised at such an unexpected venture for the K-pop superstar, the newly launched company marks her first-ever collaboration with Zero Zero Entertainment. As the first title under the publishing house, LISA will be releasing a fifty-six-page graphic novel, titled Alter Ego: The Official Comic. With a story written by the Thai singer-rapper herself, the comic will feature unique illustrations by Japanese illustrator MINOMIYABI, and will give fans an in-depth storyline that unpacks the five distinct personas the LISA embodies on the record alone.
Read the official premise of the forthcoming comic book below:
“Step into a neon-drenched cyberpunk city where Vixi — a quiet tech genius — prefers fixing arcade machines to seeking the spotlight. Despite her reserved nature, she becomes the unexpected bond that unites four remarkable friends: Roxi, a pressured social star yearning for genuine connection; Kiki, an unstoppable arcade champion with an unyielding spirit; Sunni, a gentle peacekeeper concealing her inner storms; and Speedi, a fearless risk-taker learning to slow down.
“When three ruthless bullies trap Vixi in a virtual reality nightmare, her friends dive headfirst into the digital battleground, proving that while Vixi may work alone, she never has to fight alone.”
LISA’s ALTER EGO is scheduled for release this February 28, 2025, and will include the previously released singles “ROCKSTAR,” “New Woman” featuring Rosaliá, “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me),” and “Born Again” featuring Doja Cat and RAYE. The accompanying comic book is scheduled to ship close to a month later on March 26, 2025, with a price point of Php 1,200. Though signed copies were sold on LISA’s webstore (and immediately sold out), unsigned copies still include two exclusive art prints, featuring one of Vixi and a random one of either Roxi, Sunni, Speedi, or Kiki.
ALTER EGO is available for pre-save here, with its tie-in comic book also available for pre-order here.
As we anticipate the release of both the album and its accompanying comic book, listen to LISA’s latest single “Born Again” featuring Doja Cat and RAYE below:
