The Maine has just surprised fans with the release of a brand new album, titled Dyed (2008-2023).
The unexpected album drop comes just a few days ahead of the band’s fifth-anniversary celebration of their annual 8123 Fest — adding even more excitement to what’s shaping up to be a packed weekend for the group and their fans.
Dyed (2008-2023) features nine fresh tracks that span the band’s entire career. These songs, pulled from the depths of The Maine’s unreleased vault, were born from old demos that never made it onto past albums, with each track serving as a snapshot of a different era in the band’s evolution. Self-produced by the group’s frontman John O’Callaghan, the album reflects the band’s personal journey, both musically and creatively.
“Revisiting the past can stir up all sorts of feelings — nostalgia, fondness, gratitude, and on and on. We felt everything in between when we unearthed these songs from over the years, and we sincerely hope they stir up the same emotions for you,” O’Callaghan shared in an official press statement.
The release comes as fans are gearing up for the 8123 Fest, taking place this weekend at Mesa Amphitheatre in Arizona, United States on January 17 and 18. In addition to The Maine, the festival will feature performances by The Starting Line, Charlotte Sands, Hellogoodbye, Bad Suns, and many more acts. Just recently, the beloved alternative rock band visited the Philippines last September 2024 as part of their The Sweet Sixteen World Tour, wherein they performed two jam-packed shows at SM North EDSA’s Skydome. In their candid interview with Billboard Philippines, the band reflected on their seventeen years on the scene, talking about their iconic discography and how it feels to have nurtured a community all across the world, including in the Philippines.
With a nostalgic trip down memory lane and a fresh batch of music to keep fans excited, The Maine is kicking off 2025 with a bang — showing no signs of slowing down after nearly two decades in the game.
