LILIES, rejoice! LISA has just announced her long-awaited debut album as a solo artist, titled ALTER EGO.
The highly anticipated project is scheduled to be released on February 28, 2025, via the K-pop superstar’s own label LLOUD Co., and RCA Records. LISA first teased the upcoming record through a series of cryptic social media posts hinting at the album title, which eventually built up to an official announcement video that showcases the BLACKPINK member emulating five different personas, which represent various personalities (or alter egos) of the renowned icon.
While no tracklist has been officially released to the public, fans can assume that LISA’s string of chart-breaking singles such as “Rockstar,” “New Woman,” and “Moonlit Floor” are included in the album, given the track’s inclusions on the album’s announcement video.
The announcement of ALTER EGO follows the recent news of LISA’s breakthrough moment as the first ever global cover star of Billboard, wherein she graced the cover of ten of its international titles, including that of Billboard Philippines. In the cover story, LISA opened up about her life as a world-renowned superstar, living life as both a chart-breaking artist and an independent businesswoman. “At first, I was scared and nervous because I never really come out here to do my own stuff. And now I’m having fun,” she mentions.
On this week’s Billboard Philippines Hot 100 chart (dated November 23, 2024), LISA holds the No. 11 spot for her pop ballad “Moonlit Floor,” which has spent a total of six weeks on the chart. Also recently, the first-ever sneak preview of LISA’s acting debut in the third season of HBO’s critically acclaimed series, The White Lotus, was released last week.
On the same day, LISA also won two awards at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2024 — Best Collaboration for “New Woman” featuring Rosaliá, and Biggest Fans. Earlier in September, she also won the Best K-Pop award at the MTV Video Music Awards 2024, taking home the moon man statuette following her medley performance of “New Woman” and “Rockstar.”
