ALYSON just premiered a music video for a fan-favorite track.
On November 10, the city pop quintet released the music video for their song “Summer Nights.” It features multiple short video snippets of the band performing the nostalgic track at various live shows in the past year or so, stitched with random clips of the members hanging out before, during, and after their gigs. Notably, it was directed by the band’s bassist Miguel Erfe, who also handled the video’s post-production.
“Summer Nights,” which talks of recalling the bittersweet memories of lost love, serves as the fifth track on ALYSON’s debut studio album DEFINITELY LOVE!, released last July 21, 2023. Last July 27, the band held a vinyl launch for the album at 123 Block in Mandaluyong City, where they shared the stage with Toneejay, Kremesoda, Mt. Lewis, and Groove Setters.
Signed to Offshore Music, the band released an extended version of “Summer Nights” last May 31 as part of their label’s Dimensions compilation album, which also features ena mori, Carousel Casualties, Pinkmen, and more.
ALYSON were featured as Billboard Philippines‘ Discover artist for the magazine’s first anniversary Issue, released last October 15. In our interview with the band, they discussed what inspired their blend of city pop and Manila sound, their growing fanbase both inside and outside of the Philippines, what lies ahead of the success of their debut album, and more.
