BIGBANG may just be so back.

Yesterday (September 1), K-pop’s iconic balladeer Taeyang concluded the second day of his Seoul concert, ‘The Light Year,’ with a rousing finale. Joining him on his stage were his fellow BIGBANG members, G-Dragon (GD) and Daesung, to perform “We Like 2 Party” — a friendship anthem from their 2016 album MADE.

Taeyang and GD also took the stage for a performance of their track “GOOD BOY,” marking the latter’s return to the live stage after seven years. In spite of his hiatus, he was praised for his seamless performance and innate stage presence.

BIGBANG were originally scheduled to make their live comeback at 2020’s Coachella Festival, but then was later cancelled due to COVID-19. In April of 2022, the group released “Still Life,” a heartfelt goodbye letter to their youth and legacy as one of K-pop’s trailblazers of the second generation.

‘The Light Year’ Tour follows the release of Taeyang’s most recent EP, Down to Earth, which was released in April of last year. In this EP, he collaborated with such K-pop stars as BTS’ Jimin, BLACKPINK’s LISA, and more. Daesung, on the other hand, has been consistently dropping new music. His latest single “Our Memories” was released in March of this year as part of the original soundtrack to the K-drama FlexxCop.
