SB19 has joined the red carpet of the first-ever Filipino Music Awards, held on October 21 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
In an interview with Billboard Philippines, the Kings of P-pop delve into what it means to make history for Filipino music, and what evenings like the Filipino Music Awards 2025 contribute to the evolution of local craft. Expounding on this was SB19’s leader, Pablo, who said, “Sobrang katuwa po yan kasi talaga namang evident na lumalaki na yung OPM. Kaliwa’t kanan may world tour ang iba’t ibang artists, may collaborations, makikita na rin yung fandoms… Even (at) these kinds of events, makikita mo kung paano cine-celebrate ang Filipino music.”
(It’s really something that makes us glad because it’s been really evident that OPM is expanding. Left and right, artists are holding world tours, there are collaborations between artists, and fandoms are evident as well… Even at these kinds of events, you can see how Filipino music is being celebrated.)
The first-ever Filipino Music Awards brings together the OPM industry’s biggest artists and influential figures, honoring their contributions to the wider industry at large, presenting a total 20 honors across five major categories and is organized by Modern Media Group Inc. — home to renowned global titles such as Billboard Philippines, Rolling Stone Philippines, Nylon Manila, and Robb Report Philippines — and produced by AGC Power Holdings Corp
