From multi-platinum albums to over a million streams on multiple songs, there’s no denying Moira is a hitmaker. With songs that pull at the heartstrings and stories that resonate with the masses, there’s no question why she continues to be the most streamed Filipina artist.

Over the weekend, she accepted the first-ever Hitmaker Award at the Billboard Philippines Women In Music. “This award is something I do not take lightly,” Moira says beginning her acceptance speech.

She goes on to share how she first found her love for music and how she now takes the stage in front of the very artists that she grew up admiring. From Regine Velasquez-Alcasid to Sarah Geronimo to Pilita Corrales to Armi Millare to Barbie Almalbis, she took time to thank these women for not only inspiring the artist she is today but also helping mold the woman she’s become. “On behalf of all the women in OPM you have paved the way for, including myself, I want to say thank you,” she says.

Moira closes out her speech by humbly dedicating her award to her mother, the woman who has made her who she is today. “Who would have thought the songs I wrote as an outlet would resonate with so many people? You make me so brave, Mama. I get to do all of this because you first did it for me. So, Mom, this one’s for you,” she says, holding back tears.
