It’s been nearly three years since Hev Abi released his career-shifting album Kung Alam Mo Lang. As his first studio album, Kung Alam Mo Lang could truly be dubbed as Hev Abi’s big break into the mainstream, as it introduced the general public to some of his most popular hits like “Alam Mo Ba Girl,” “Walang Alam,” and more.

Perhaps it was for that precise reason that the rapper was able to draw flocks of people to Teatrino in Greenhills, San Juan, to get the very first glimpse of his upcoming album, MADUMING TIMOG. Walking into the venue itself, audience members were greeted with low and moody lighting, along with classic Manila Sound hits that filled the air with a sense of nostalgia and familiarity. Filling the venue were star artists of all genres, from Baguio-bred rock band Dilaw to SB19’s FELIP, and fellow local hip-hop stars like DEMI and Zae.

Titled MADUMING TIMOG, the album itself was revealed to be nineteen tracks long, including an intro, an outro, and an interlude. As an homage to his hometown and the city he proudly represents, each track felt like the perfect song to cruise to on a night out in downtown Quezon City. While powerful trap songs like “Ayusin Ang Sira” and “Homeschool” enforce his dominance over QC with pride and swagger, songs like “Lil Shwty” and “All Night Long” reveal a softer side of the rapper, with romantic lyrics and a suave beat.

Furthermore, the new album was revealed to contain several exciting collaborative pieces, namely: “Away” (ft. Jess Connelly), “Sizzling” (ft. LK), “Faded Off” (ft. Manila Grey), “Valerie” (ft. gins&melodies and LK), and “Naghahanap Sila” (ft. LK).

With every new track the emcee would play, the room was met with an energy of celebration and support for the artist. The crowd (especially the portions of it composed of members from the Downtown Q Entertainment crew) would erupt in cheers with nearly every sentence he would share on that stage, whether it would be laughing along with him, cheering for him, or even, at some points, barking for him. At the balcony of the venue as well was his mother, who could be seen dancing to every beat, even when the rapper himself apologized to her about the themes of the lyrics.

Overall, it may have taken nearly three years for Hev Abi to come out with his second album, but through that one night of celebration, it was clearly worth it. With the album’s release date set just a day before Valentine’s Day on February 13, 2026, it can be said that the album is an ode to love in multiple forms — and most especially the love he shares with those who’ve supported him along the way.
