Rolling Loud never does things half-baked. When they set out to put on the biggest hip-hop festival in the world, they did it grander than anyone could have ever dreamed of. So, in the same fashion, the festival’s highly anticipated return to Thailand is the biggest it’s ever been.

Last November, the beach city of Pattaya was once again home to the biggest celebration of hip-hop that the region has ever seen. Drawing in not only thousands of music fans from all over the world, the second iteration of Rolling Loud Thailand was also a showcase of the hottest artists in rap music across three days — from headliners like Asap Rocky and Lil Wayne to stellar names like Tyga, Denzel Curry, Wacka Flocka Flame, Ski Mask The Slump God, Akon, Wiz Khalifa, Jay Park, and CL.

With three days of impeccable music and fun, it’s hard to get over an unforgettable weekend at Rolling Loud Thailand 2024. As we still try to reel back from everything — from artists quite literally setting the stage aflame to an endless outpour of hits — we’re looking back at five of the best performances of the entire weekend.

CL

CL has never been the type to play around, so when she stepped on the main stage of Rolling Loud Thailand, you instantly knew you were about to witness a performance you’d never forget. Kicking off her highly anticipated set with the familiar inciting beats of “SPICY,” the rapper and K-pop star sent everyone into a frenzy, getting the crowd to jump and scream in excitement. She continued to amplify the crowd’s energy to new highs with electrifying tracks like “Chuck,” “Doctor Pepper,” and “Hello B*tches,” as well as 2NE1’s “MTBD.”

With CL currently embarking on a tour around Asia with 2NE1, there’s no denying that her voice that night wasn’t in its best condition, with her often singing only certain lines or pointing the mic to crowd to sing for her. Regardless, the K-pop star — who fought through Pattaya’s intense heat to hit every beat of her fiery choreography, all while still charming the crowd — delivered a performance worth raving about.

Wiz Khalifa

There’s a certain energy that takes over once Wiz Khalifa hits the stage. It’s calm yet spirited, chill yet genuinely exciting. His set was a mix of party anthems like his hits “We Dem Boyz” and “Black and Yellow” and feel-good tracks like “See You Again” and “Young, Wild, and Free.”

Despite not being the biggest performer of the night, Wiz Khalifa drew a massive crowd with everyone fully taking in one of the weekend’s most standout sets. It was clear to see how much love Wiz Khalifa had for music and his craft — a sentiment he closed his hour-long performance with — and it fully reflected in every moment he was up on stage. It was hard not leaving his set with good vibes and a renewed excitement for what’s to come.

Tyga

There was something about the way that Tyga commanded a stage and took over the crowd. It was if you knew you had to pay attention or else you’d be missing something incredible.

Fast-paced and high-energy, his set felt like a quick Rolodex of familiar hits that had everyone jumping at every new song. Just as you thought the energy would settle, it bounced right back up as Tyga put on tracks like “Taste”, “Ay Macarena”, “Rack City”, and more.

DJ Snake

If there was anyone during Rolling Loud Thailand that had people moving and shaking, it was none other than DJ Snake. Armed with a plethora of hits, one surprise guest after another, and a bonfire’s worth of pyrotechnics, the renowned DJ and producer — despite it being his first-ever Rolling Loud performance — threw the party of the entire weekend.

Big in sound and energy, DJ Snake never let the crowd settle as he churned out an endless stream of party anthems and brought out guests like Tyga and NLE Choppa. If the several mosh pits in the crowd or the sea of people dancing were any indicators, there was not a dull moment in DJ Snake’s set.

Lil Wayne

To say Lil Wayne was the best set of the entire weekend would not even begin to describe the performance he put on. From performing a decades’ worth of nostalgic hits to his bountiful showcase of charisma and gratitude, Lil Wayne delivered a set you’d want to relive again and again.

There’s only a few rappers that can live up to the caliber of the acclaimed artist and his hour-long performance proved that. Taking no break to bring hits like “Uproar,” “6 Foot 7 Foot,” “A Milli,” and so much more, it was a wonder seeing one of the best rappers alive at work.
