Two of Philippine hip-hop’s best (and baddest) have come up with a joint single.
Previewing a powerful hip-hop track, Zae and Alex Bruce took to social media to post a sneak peek of the behind-the-scenes clips of their upcoming music video to be released tonight (December 6) at 7PM. This collaboration is titled “A to Z,” as a witty pun of the duo’s names. With this commanding anthem, the pair show female solidarity in the male-dominated scene of local hip-hop.
In an official press release, Alex Bruce details, “We’re not just here for the spotlight; we’re here to uplift each other and make sure our voices are heard. In a space where women are often overlooked, we’re showing that we’ve got each other’s backs. Together, we rise and create a powerful statement of unity and respect.” Similarly, Zae noted, “Women are often told to fit into certain expectations, especially in hip-hop. With this song, we wanted to show that we’re more than just our image.”
This marks Zae’s second exciting hip-hop partnership to come out during this half of the year, as the “Swerve” hitmaker previously joined forces with her fellow Billboard Philippines Pinoy Hip-Hop Class of 2024 graduate, Hev Abi, for a remix of her single, “SUBOMOTO.” For Alex Bruce, it would mark the 17-year-old Batangueño’s third single of the year following her prior releases, “SWOOSH” and “SUMFLING.”
