UNIS Reveal The 3 Songs They Enjoy Performing Live The Most

As their discography continues to grow, UNIS have picked out the songs they love performing live the most.

On October 24, (Thursday), the rising K-pop girl group held a press conference in Manila ahead of their first-ever fan concert in the country ‘UNIS In CURIOUSland,’ which is happening today, October 25.

The media conference kicked off with the members of UNIS warmly greeting those in attendance and introducing themselves, with leader Hyeonju thanking everyone for still coming despite the ongoing inclement weather caused by Typhoon Kristine (Trami). In addition, the group also pledged that they will be donating a portion of their Manila fan concert’s earnings to those affected by the typhoon.

Following this, the group immediately went into the Q&A portion of the event, answering pre-submitted inquiries from the media as well as on-the-spot questions. This includes queries about their return to the Philippines, preparing for their upcoming performances, and more.

With UNIS having just made their first ever comeback last August, Billboard Philippines asked the group what are the three songs the members have been enjoying performing live the most so far. Hyeonju answers that, while they have loved performing all of their songs, they had three clear-cut favorites.

The first of these would be the pop rock-fueled “Curious,” the title track of their first comeback single album. Meanwhile, the second would be “Dopamine” — the fourth track from their debut mini album WE UNIS — because they were “really surprised” that a lot of their Filipino fans, the EVERAFTERs, could sing along to the whole track when they first came to the Philippines. Finally, Hyeonju highlights their debut song “SUPERWOMAN” as the third track they have consistently enjoyed showcasing during performances.

Speaking of their Filipino fans, Hyeonju also expresses the group’s deepest gratitude towards them for making it possible for UNIS to return to the Philippines a lot quicker than they had expected, and promised to make their fan concert an experience that would be even more memorable and exciting.

Adding to this, Elisia also thanked their Filipino fans, sharing that they prepared a lot harder for their performances this time around, with Gehlee backing her up and asking everyone to look forward to what they have in store.

In relation to their fan concert, when asked what can their Filipino fans expect, youngest member Seowon states that since it will be their first time performing all of the songs on the CURIOUS single album, it will definitely be something special fans can be excited for, with Elisia also sharing that they have prepared special stages for the Filipino crowd.

Meanwhile, Kotoko shares her personal experience preparing for the fan concert, stating how much she worked harder to perfect their new choreographies since it will be their first time showcasing them to the Filipino crowd. In addition, Elisia also shares that the members have been asking her and Gehlee — two of the group’s Filipino members — about more Filipino phrases they can use in order to better connect with their Filipino fans.

Adding to this, Hyeonju also cheerfully states that despite how rigorous their schedules and work might be, one of the things that have helped keep them going is the energy they get from their EVERAFTERs, especially whenever the group hears their supportive shouts. “[We have] no other words to say to [our] fans but, really, really, thank you for all the support [you] have given to UNIS,” she states, expressing the group’s love for their fans and asking those who will be going to their Manila fan concert to arrive safely. “We can’t wait to see you!”

Upon concluding the Q&A portion, UNIS then gave those in attendance a taste of what was to come for their fan concert, closing out the media conference with a rousing performance of “Curious” and even obliging to an encore of “Poppin'” — the third track from CURIOUS.

The first show of ‘UNIS In CURIOUSland’ in the Philippines happens tonight (October 25) at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. Tickets are still available via Tickenet Online.
