Filipino post-hardcore icons Typecast are coming to Jakarta, Indonesia this May for Hammersonic Festival 2026, the biggest heavy music festival in Southeast Asia.

Promoted by Ravel Entertainment, the music festival will be held on May 2 and 3 at Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) PIK 2. Marking its tenth anniversary, the theme of the event is Decade of Dominion, celebrating “a decade on the throne, untouchable, unshaken.”

The event is bringing together international and regional heavy acts to Jakarta for two days, drawing thousands of punk, rock, and metal listeners. Joining the lineup, Filipino alternative rock group Typecast was announced on the festival’s social media on April 22 with the caption, “Some wounds heal, some just learn the words…” The band is set to perform on its second day, May 3.

Performing alongside a stacked lineup, Typecast will be the fourth Filipino band ever to play at Hammersonic Festival, following fellow Filipino acts Valley of Chrome in 2018, Greyhoundz in 2023, and Arcadia in 2024. This year, they are joined by groups hailing from the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Malaysia.

During the first day, Lich King and Eyehategod from America will perform, alongside Japanese Crystal Lake, Norwegian Carpathian Forest, Indonesian Pee Wee Gaskins, Burger Kill, and STRANGERS, and Malaysian Sekumpulan Orang Gila and Straight Answer.

On May 3, Typecast will be joined by US’ The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Hawthorne Heights, Senses Fail, Dashboard Confessional, and Agnostic Front. Completing the second day lineup are EMNW and ELLEGARDEN from Japan, Malevolence from the UK, Nocturnal Nihil from Taiwan, and Deadsquad and FRAUD from Indonesia.
