After teasing their collaboration with beloved Philippine folk-pop band Ben&Ben, Thai alternative pop trio Tilly Birds have officially announced their upcoming joint single “Heaven.” Combining the signature feel-good, bright pop sound of the Tilly Birds with Ben&Ben’s emotionally-charged songwriting, the single is set for release on September 25 (Thursday). Furthermore, the fresh track is set to be released alongside a music video that was shot in the Philippines.
In an official press release, the collaboration process between the two acts was elaborated: “The story behind ‘Heaven’ began with a backstage friendship when both bands shared the same lineup at a concert in Malaysia. Inspired by that connection, the three members of Tilly Birds later flew to Manila to co-write the song with Ben&Ben. Recording sessions spanned across borders, with files exchanged between Bangkok and Manila, until the track was fully brought to life.”
“Lyrically, the single captures the joy of meeting someone unexpectedly, at just the right time, and sharing a moment of happiness together—like finding a little piece of heaven on earth. In many ways, the collaboration between Tilly Birds and Ben&Ben itself is another definition of ‘Heaven.'”
“Heaven” would mark the latest addition to the Thai trio’s recent trend of fully English singles, “Never A Waste Of Time,” which was released in July, and “Retro 39,” which was released in October. Ben&Ben, on the other hand, most recently teamed up with Moira for a new version of the latter’s track, titled “I’m Okay,” which was dropped earlier in July this year.
