After some time away from the public, The 1975 have quietly released a surprise live album that commemorates their February concert in the band’s hometown of Manchester, United Kingdom.
Titled Still…At Their Very Best, the live record chronicles their two-hour performance at the OA Arena, which kicks off with the band’s latest studio album from 2022, Being Funny in a Foreign Language. News of the album’s release came without any formal statement from the band, as the chart-topping English group just put up the record on streaming services following Glastonbury Festival’s announcement that The 1975 will serve as one of the festival’s headliners this year.
The newly released live album features some of the band’s deep cuts — such as “Me,” “You,” and the fan-favorite “Menswear,” which appears in the middle of the track list. Frontman Matty Healy’s five-minute monologue appears on the sixteenth track of the setlist (“Consumption”), which sees him reflecting on the honor of playing at a large arena in his hometown and addressing a number of controversies surrounding his relationship with the press and the ‘nepo-baby’ debate.
Together with the release of the record across streaming and digital services, a pre-order link was opened for the live album’s release on a limited edition vinyl format, which sees Still…At Their Very Best spread out across three clear-colored vinyl discs. It has an estimated release date of May 30, 2025 via Dirty Hit, and can be pre-ordered here.
The 1975’s Still…At Their Very Best is their third live album, and the second one that documents this specific tour. The band first released DH00278 (Live from The O2, London. 16.12.16) to document the tour for their sophomore record, I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it, which was then followed up by a live album of their November 2022 At Their Very Best performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City. For the same tour, the brand brought the At Their Very Best experience to Manila back in May 2023, which saw two sold-out shows at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
