SZA is finally releasing her highly anticipated (and long-delayed) record Lana.

The record is scheduled to drop this weekend on December 20, 2024 (Friday) across all streaming and digital platforms, after being teased since last December 10, 2023. Following the release of six cover artwork variants and the record’s lead single “Saturn” (which dropped earlier on February 22, 2024), this deluxe reissue is finally being released to the public.

Together with the release of Lana, SZA will also be releasing a music video for the long-teased track “Drive,” which stars renowned comedian-actor Ben Stiller and is directed by Bradley J. Calder. The teaser to the music video showcases Stiller singing along to the track’s lyrics while driving amidst gloomy weather, with their collaboration serving as a callback to their famed online interaction wherein the two gushed over each other’s work.

Lana serves as the deluxe edition to SZA’s critically and commercially acclaimed sophomore album SOS, which was released a little over two years ago. The record spawned six singles, with five of them entering the Top 10 of the US Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Global 200 charts.

On the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 (dated December 14, 2024) alone, the beloved R&B musician has three tracks from SOS currently charting, including “Snooze,” “Nobody Gets Me,” and “Kill Bill” which rank at No. 22, No. 59, and No. 83 respectively. Also on the Philippines Hot 100 are “Saturn” at No. 86, and her collaboration track with Kendrick Lamar from his album GNX, “luther,” ranking highly at No. 3.

Aside from the release of SZA’s Lana, the chart-topping hitmaker is also scheduled to star in her first-ever feature film One Of Them Days, which co-stars Keke Palmer and is scheduled to be released on January 17, 2025 worldwide.
