Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival has officially announced the first wave of its highly-anticipated lineup for this year’s iteration, which features several music icons and renowned names from all around the world.
This year’s Summer Sonic Festival is scheduled to take place for three days from August 14th (Friday) to August 16th (Sunday), coincidentally happening at both Tokyo (Zozomarine Stadium & Makuhari Messe) and Osaka (Expo ’70 Commemorative Park).
As part of the festival’s first grand announcement, it was mentioned that it will feature headliners such as American indie-rock stars The Strokes, Japanese rock band L’arc-En-Ciel, English acid funk group Jamiroquai, as well as other musical acts, like K-pop superstars JENNIE and LE SSERAFIM, Steve Lacy, Keshi, FKA Twigs, Alex Warren, Pentatonix, Audrey Nuna, Kodaline, Destin Conrad, and the Talking Heads’ very own frontman, David Byrne, and several others.

Tickets to the highly-anticipated festival are now available for advance sale from February 10 onwards, priced from 21,000 yen to 100,000 yen for Tokyo and 18,500 yen to 90,000 yen for Osaka, while general release opens up to the public this May 30, 2026. Last year’s iteration of the famed music festival in Japan included headliners like Fall Out Boy and Alicia Keys, as well as KATSEYE, The Rose, aespa, 2hollis, Beabadoobee, sombr, Babymetal, Jorja Smith, Tinashe, Camilla Cabello, Yungblud, Jorja Smith, Elijah Woods, and several others. In addition to the Japan iteration, they also staged a festival in Bangkok, which also included Black Eyed Peas, 21 Savage, EXO‘s Chanyeol, as well as P-pop group BGYO.
