The highly anticipated debut print issue of Billboard Philippines has been unveiled today (October 15). Dedicated to the genre of Pop, its magazines sees not only one but two cover stars that are continuously defining and re-defining Filipino music: SB19 and Regine Velasquez-Alacasid.

Rightfully dubbed as the “Kings of P-pop”, SB19 — comprising Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin — have paved the way for P-pop on the global stage. Recognised for their powerful songs and choreography, the group has continuously pushed the boundaries of Filipino pop. Most recently, SB19 has also been confirmed to be considered for a GRAMMY Nomination for their viral hit “GENTO”. 

While Velasquez-Alcasid is undeniably one of the most recognised voices in the region. Named Asia’s Songbird and the Philippines’ Queen of Pop, the veteran singer is a timeless icon whose influence still creates ripples throughout the industry.

The volume respectively recounts and details both Velasquez-Alcasid and SB19’s incredible artistry and the role they each play for the growth and evolution of Filipino pop music, in addition to insightful stories on some of the country’s most exciting artists.

Alongside the print issue, Billboard Philippines’ also unveiled their website which serves a platform to further connect Filipino music and the world and a home for digital stories on all things music, everything from the trending artists to the budding music communities across the Philippines. It also showcased new original media series, including live performance shows, Studios and Soundwave, and a podcast titled Volumes

Billboard Philippines comes as the latest international edition of Billboard, following other Asia editions in Vietnam, Japan, and China.
