Yesterday (September 15, 2025), romantic hit-making pop artist Rob Deniel announced his upcoming single “Ikaw Sana,” set for release this Friday (September 17). Available for pre-saving on all platforms here, the track is set to be a cover of the Ogie Alcasid classic, which was originally debuted in 2001 under his collaborative album with his wife and the Songbird of Asia, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, A Better Man.
Deniel originally performed the track as a Wishclusive performance for the radio station Wish 107.5, for an Ogie Alcasid tribute. Here, he mashed up two of Alcasid’s staple tracks, “Ikaw Sana” and “Nanditio Ako,” bringing his unique flair to the classic songs.
In an official press release, the fresh track was described to be “equal parts homage, revival, and pure Rob charm.” It was further detailed that, “While the song remains deeply rooted in Ogie’s unmistakable legacy, Rob adds his own brand of tenderness and modern flair — proof that he’s not just singing a cover, but truly making it his own. It’s the kind of rendition that makes you feel nostalgic and brand new all at once.”
This marks Rob Deniel’s first major musical release following his romantic April single “Puso.” Furthermore, the singer-songwriter participated in the soundtrack for the recently premiered 100 Awit Para Kay Stella, where his track “Simoy” plays as the opening song.
