The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics has finally come to a close.

In celebration of this year’s festivities, the closing ceremony featured a stellar ensemble of performers — including some of France’s most iconic musicians like the indie rock band Phoenix, pop sensation Angéle, and musical duo Air, while also showcasing some of the United States’ most iconic performers such as Fil-Am R&B luminary H.E.R., pop superstar Billie Eilish, rock icons Red Hot Chili Peppers, and rap legends Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, among others.

At the Stade de France in Paris, Phoenix performed an impressive set of tracks, including “Love Like A Sunset,” “Lisztomania,” “Nightcall” featuring Kavinsky and Angèle on vocals, “If I Ever Feel Better,” “Funky Squaredance” with Vannda, “Playground Love” with Air, “Tonight” featuring Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig, and the crowd-favorite “1901.” H.E.R. performed the National Anthem of the United States.

On the other side of the world, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eilish, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed at the handover ceremony at Rosie’s Dog Beach in Los Angeles, California, where the 2028 Olympics are scheduled to take place. The Chili Peppers played their 2002 hit “Can’t Stop” alongside a 2022 cut “Eddie,” while Eilish performed the chart-topper “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” and “THE GREATEST.” Closing off the show, Snoop Dogg performed “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “The Next Episode” with Dr. Dre, “Gin and Juice,” and “What’s My Name.”

During the opening ceremony of the Olympics, several music icons were in attendance — with Lady Gaga and Celine Dion kicking off the famed sporting event with fantastic renditions of some French pop classics. Gaga performed Zizi Jeanmaire’s “Mon Truc en Plumes” (“My Thing With Feathers”), while Dion delivered an outstanding performance to Edith Piaf’s “L’Hymne à l’amour.”
