Omar Baliw is not happy with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, following the latter’s use of Baliw’s track “K&B” as a jingle at his kick-off campaign event.

The renowned Filipino rapper called out the senatorial aspirant on his official Facebook page, sharing a video clip from the event with the caption: “Di pa nakaupo, nagnakaw na agad. [W]ala kaming kinalaman dito. Pwede ba itong ipa-Barangay? Awit.” (“He’s not even elected yet, but he already stole my song. We have nothing to do with this. Can we report him to the barangay? Damn.”)

After a number of reputable news outlets picked up coverage of the event, Baliw reaffirmed his stance on the matter — making it clear that he was not involved with the song’s use at the controversial pastor’s campaign event. “Uulitin ko, wala kameng kinalaman dyan. Ninakaw ang music at ginamit nang walang pahintulot.” (“Again, we have nothing to do with this. Our music was stolen and used without permission.”)

Though it’s not uncommon to witness political candidates utilizing established songs as part of their campaign, agencies such as the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines and the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (FILSCAP) have reminded political aspirants to secure licenses from artists before using their songs in their respective campaigns.

Pastor Apollo Quiboloy — who is currently jailed in the custody of the Philippine government — is running for Senator at the 2025 Philippine general elections. The controversial preacher is facing allegations of abuse connected to him and his religious organization, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Another a human trafficking charge has been brought against Quiboloy in a Pasig court, while abuse charges have been filed in a Quezon City court.

Even in the international setting, Quiboloy is wanted by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as one of their ‘Most Wanted’ criminals due to charges of a conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force; fraud and coercion, and sex trafficking of children; sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, conspiracy, and bulk cash smuggling.

In other news, Baliw had just released his latest collaboration single “Kalaban” featuring fellow rapper DiCE earlier on February 7, 2025. It marks his latest musical release following his string of 2024 singles, which includes “High Minds” featuring Michael Bars, “Up,” “Baliw,” SINO DAW?,” “Bulong,” and “Kuwan.”
