Novocrane has released a brand new single, entitled “safe and sound.” The Cebu indie rock act came out with the new song last March 28, 2025. It serves as the follow-up to the band’s debut with “Imaginary Party,” which was released last August 9, 2024.
In a post celebrating the new single’s release, singer Kai Sevillano reveals that she started writing the lyrics to the track back in Bacolod when she was 17, stating that “wouldn’t have ever thought that she’d be able to release music so seriously.” Furthermore, she also note that the demo to the song was made with Karl Lucente of Mandaue Nights in 2023, before finishing it up in 2024 with Luke April of PLAYERTWO. In addition, she also reveals that the final vocal tracks were recorded in Japan, while everything was mixed by Emil Dela Rosa. “I guess this is why this song is so special to me — i can see the various points and changes of my life throughout the process of this song.”
Earlier this year, Novocrane was chosen by Billboard Philippines as part of its ’10 Artists To Look Out For This 2025′ list, where we described their debut single as channelling “a beloved sound that feels nostalgic and familiar yet fresh and exciting at the same time, leaving an impressive taste of what is to potentially come from the band this 2025.”
In other news, the band was recently added to the lineup of The Rest Is Noise’s All Of The Noise 2025, happening this April 4 and 5 (Friday and Saturday) at The Astbury in Makati City. Novocrane will be performing during day 2, where the band will share the stage with international artists The Chairs (Taiwan), KIKI (Thailand), Logic Lost (Indonesia), as well as fellow local acts Waiian, IIICCCYYY, obese.dogma777, and more.
