The wait is coming to an end as indie rockstar Mitski is gearing up to release some new music. Titled Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, the full-length release is slated to come out on February 27, 2026, via Dead Oceans, Inc. (Phoebe Bridgers, Japanese Breakfast, and more).
Additionally, the artist debuted the first pre-release single from the album, “Where’s My Phone?” and its music video. In an official press release, the inspiration behind the music video was detailed, saying: “Based on Shirley Jackson’s novel, We Have Always Lived in the Castle, and using a playful, primitive style of filmmaking, it presents Mitski playing a paranoid woman who is trying to protect her sister inside a gothic house while battling increasingly absurd, human obstacles.”

In the same press release, it was said that the album was produced and engineered by Patrick Hyland and mastered by Bob Weston, and it “… Continues the musical through line established with 2023’s The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, and features live instrumentation by The Land touring band and ensemble arrangements.”
