Filipino rock band Mayonnaise have announced that they will be dropping a new track called “Anything” this February 16.

In an Instagram post uploaded by the band today (January 30), they revealed the single’s cover art as well as the title and release date. “Anything” is their first release of 2024, following their 2023 single “Buang” (Crazy). They also recently celebrated their 20th anniversary in the music industry, and went on a nationwide tour last year. They concluded their tour with a concert at the Quezon City Memorial Circle, and released a live album recording of their performance.

In 2022, the band earned a resurgence in the mainstream when their 2004 song “Jopay” went viral on social media. The song was included in the official soundtrack for the 2022 film Ngayon Kaya (Hopefully Now), starring Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez. In an interview with Rappler on the single going viral again, frontman Monty Macalino shared, “In the middle of last year, wala namang nangyayari (nothing was really happening)…I just wanted to play,” shares Macalino. “So I said, let’s play for Leni [Robredo], and then when we were playing for Leni, parang bumalik yung reach namin sa masa (suddenly the masses’ love for us came back)…later that year, nagppickup ulit yung mga (we started getting) gigs and shows…and then biglang nag-viral ulit ang ‘Jopay’ (‘Jopay’ suddenly went viral).”

The band closed out 2023, what they call their “biggest year yet,” hitting 93.8 million streams on Spotify, 9.2 million listeners, and reach in over 180 countries. In the Instagram post with their Spotify wrapped, they wrote, “Maraming salamat MayoNation for making 2023 our biggest year yet sa lahat ng aspeto! Pangako mas lalo pa naming pagbubutihin ngayong 2024. Sana wag pa rin kayo magsawang sumuporta (Thank you MayoNation for making 2023 our biggest year yet in all aspects! We promise to continue doing better in 2024. We hope you don’t get tired of supporting us.)”
