Right before his biggest concert to date, Maki has just released a surprise new version of his freshly released single “Turning Green” with the American pop duo joan today (November 7, 2025). The collaborative piece adds an entirely new verse to the brightly textured pop piece, written and sang by the rising pop tandem.

“Turning Green” was originally released as part of Maki’s debut album, Kolorcoaster, as the record’s fourth track. In its original version, it served as a short interval piece with a total play time of one minute and thirty-eight seconds. The addition of joan’s collaboration gives the song a total runtime of three minutes and fifty-eight seconds — perfect for those who requested an extended version of the piece.

As aforementioned, the “dilaw” hitmaker is set to host his largest concert to date tonight at the Araneta Coliseum. The ‘Kolorcoaster’ concert is set to celebrate the recent release of the singer-songwriter’s debut album of the same title, and all ticket tiers have recently sold out.

Maki was recently nominated for the Pop Song of the Year Award at the first-ever Filipino Music Awards for his chart-breaking hit, “Namumula.” Here, he was nominated alongside fellow artists SB19, Sarah Geronimo, KAIA, and BGYO — and SB19 ultimately took home the award for “DUNGKA!” Furthermore, during the highly esteemed award show, he performed a medley of his recent favorites “Abelyana” and “Kahel na Langit.”
