Tarsier Records’ Maki, Angela Ken, and Nameless Kids‘ frontman Nhiko Sabiniano have just released their latest song collaboration with the single titled “Sikulo“.
The alternative-pop track features themes of melancholy, narrating a tale of two lovers — exhausted by a relationship that has both parties running in circles. The trio made the joint effort to write the song from the perspective of witnessing the final stages of a relationship that is bound to end.
This follows the recent release of Maki’s last single “HBD”, which dropped earlier this January. His 2023 EP, Tanong, has accumulated over 90 million streams on the platform of Spotify alone — further highlighting just how much his music resonates to a much larger audience.
On the other hand, “Sikulo” marks Angela Ken’s latest musical release following the conclusion of her performance run in the musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”, and also after the release of her single “Alas Diyes”, which was co-produced by Sabiniano and ABS-CBN Music’s creative director, Jonathan Manalo.
Sabiniano and the rest of his band, Nameless Kids, dropped their latest single “Still So In Love” also earlier this January — a track that he also penned. His songwriting efforts were also noted in his earlier collaboration with Maki for the latter’s smash-hit single “Saan?”, which has amassed over 65 million Spotify streams.
