It’s been raining in Manila and Lola Amour have taken home the most awards at the Awit Awards 2024.

On December 4, the Awit Awards held its 37th iteration at the Music Museum in San Juan City, shining a well-deserved spotlight on multiple Filipino artists of various genres, from P-pop to metal and from hip-hop to indie rock. This event follows the music awards show’s 36th edition, held last November 2023.

Among all the nominees, beloved funk-pop band Lola Amour took home four awards. In the Grand Awards category, they bagged Record of the Year and Song of the Year for their breakthrough, chart-topping 2023 hit “Raining In Manila.” Meanwhile, the viral track also took home an accolade from the Special Recording Awards category, winning Best Pop Recording while its parodied version “Waiting Here Sa Pila” with actor-comedian Michael V won Best Novelty Recording.

In addition to these wins, “Raining In Manila” was also nominated for three other categories. Namely, these were Best Alternative Recording, Best Performance By A Group, and Best Remix Recording for the song’s remix by DJ Young.

Alongside Lola Amour, singer-songwriter Unique also won Album of the Year in the Grand Awards category for his sophomore album Daisy. Meanwhile, in the Special Recording Awards category, Best Regional Recording went to “Lubi Lubi” by Faye Yupano and Project Yazz; Best Christmas Recording was won by “Isang Taong Lumipas” from Ryan Cayabyab, Emmy Cayabyab, Krina Cayabyab, and Toma Cayabyab; Best Original Soundtrack Recording went to “Duyan ng Bayan (Sindihan Song Inspired by Gomburza)” by Noel Cabangon, Ebe Dancel, and Gloc-9; Best Inspirational Recording was won by “Seek First” from Quest; and Best R&B Recording went to “Oksihina” by Dionela.
